Thanksgiving

Posted by Doug Griner in

I feel as believers we should be thankful for 3 experiences: What God HAS done, What God IS doing, or What God IS ABOUT to do. This Thanksgving let's take time to reflect and pray in faith for these experiences. Thankfulness keeps our hearts tender towards the Voice of God and ultimately towards each other.

Life today is moving at a blinding pace and uncertainty looms overhead. Many of us will have family and friends gathered with us during the holiday season. Some of them may be struggling as they process through a difficult circumstance. We can offer them hope by demonstrating our own thankfulness.

1 Peter 3:14b-15a (NIV)
"Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience.

I heard pastor Martin once say, what would you put in a letter to Jesus. The letter would simply say "Thank you". Thanksgiving is a wonderful day of reflection. Hopefully as believers, one of 365 days in which we thank God for what He has done, is doing, and is going to do. God's speed

I remember a Pastor say once that our prayer should be full of thanksgiving, because God already knows what we need. However I do believe we still need to communicate our needs and wants to God, I do agree about expressing our thankfulness to the Lord!
